Straight joints
Short Guide: Traditional Scottish Brickwork, published, on 1 March 2014 by Historic Environment Scotland, defines straight joints as: ‘Vertical joints directly above or below other vertical joints in successive courses; the main purpose of bonding is to avoid this as it results in a reduction of strength within a wall.’
